Innovative & playful architecture
LEGO’s imaginative and playful corporate culture is reflected in the new headquarters innovative and creative architecture designed by C.F. Møller Architects. The inspiration for the new complex comes from a picture of a boy proudly showing his LEGO house. This unfolds clearly in the inventive composition of the eight buildings and the large-scale LEGO bricks in GRC which adorn the facade.
Sustainability was very important in the construction of this complex and that included the choice of building materials. GRC is a extreme durable material, with a lifespan of more than 100 years, and does not require technical maintenance. Formable GRC
BB fiberbeton manufactured 30 large scale facade elements formed as LEGO bricks. The LEGO bricks are produced in BBf no.92 light grey and are mounted with embedded steel frames. This project is another example of the creativity and formability possible with GRC.

GRC is durable for more than 100 years without any technical maintenance and it does not dent, rot, corrode, nor burn (class A material). With a sustainable material and an environmentally friendly production without toxic materials, GRC elements from BB fiberbeton are ideal for environmental certifications, such as LEED, DGNB, and BREEAM.
GRC is made of white cement and fine aggregates and reinforced with glassfibre. Elements are produced using a special spray-technique that allows for a low water/cement-ratio, a low thickness, and a high strength.
