Balconies for Blankavej Create New Spaces
Although the building at Blankavej 15-23 dates back to 1934, with long-established facilities and homeowner association, renewal – in the form of beautiful balconies – can easily create new exciting spaces and opportunities for everyday living.
Blankavej 15-23 is rich in history and character and deserved balconies that not only added functionality but also preserved the building's authentic charm and aesthetics.
The new balconies have been made in collaboration with Balco Altaner A/S, where BB fiberbeton has been responsible for the design and production of balcony bases and balcony ceilings of high quality, made to measure. In total, 65 elements, in 14 variants, and corresponding to 206m2 unfolded GRC, were made for the project.
Tailored Balcony Solution
All our balcony elements are made to measure and adapted to each individual building. The design freedom of our GRC and the vast expertise of our team allow us to ensure a harmonious fusion between new elements and the existing building.
We have manufactured the balcony elements for installation on surfaces with a unilateral slope to ensure drainage over the front edge. The ceiling elements are made of 12 mm thickness, with approximately 176 mm simple fold along three sides, and recessed mounting holes with accompanying plugs in the same material, ensuring concealed installation.
While the balcony ceilings are produced with a lightly matt surface and simple profiling, the base elements are produced with our standard non-slip surface, lightly matt and without exposed aggregates. All are produced in a light grey – BBf no. 04 – and treated with a transparent surface treatment for additional water and dirt-repellent properties.

GRC is durable for more than 100 years without any technical maintenance and it does not dent, rot, corrode, nor burn (class A material). With a sustainable material and an environmentally friendly production without toxic materials, GRC elements from BB fiberbeton are ideal for environmental certifications, such as LEED, DGNB, and BREEAM.
GRC is made of white cement and fine aggregates and reinforced with glassfibre. Elements are produced using a special spray-technique that allows for a low water/cement-ratio, a low thickness, and a high strength.
