A multi-purpose building complex in an energetic district
The Harrow Square residential buildings on 51 College Road are prominently located in the historic London district of Harrow on the Hill.
The multi-apartment building complex brings together public space, residents, businesses, and high-quality architecture. The complex includes space for restaurants, cafés, playgrounds, and places for cultural events and shows. The different buildings vary in height to fit the landscape, with the highest 20-story building in the middle and the adjacent buildings lowering so as to fit evenly with the surrounding buildings.
A durable GRC facade
Energy-efficient and nature-friendly materials have been chosen for the construction, including GRC for the facade cladding. The choice of GRC for the facade is highly beneficial in regard to durability and weather resistance. The lifespan of GRC is 100+ years with no need for technical maintenance and without the worry of replacing or repairing elements because of weather damage.
BB fiberbeton produced and manufactured 2.900 facade elements in GRC, corresponding to 9.800 m2 in a total of 195 variants.

With a sustainable material and an environmentally friendly production without toxic materials, GRC elements from BB fiberbeton are ideal for environmental certifications, such as LEED, DGNB, and BREEAM.
GRC is made of white cement and fine aggregates and reinforced with glassfibre. Elements are produced using a special spray-technique that allows for a low water/cement-ratio, a low thickness, and a high strength.
