Office building with a lush therapy garden
Priorn is an office building in central Malmø, Sweden, and aside from modern offices, also houses a memory clinic and a unique rooftop therapy garden. The ambition was to challenge the preconceptions about how a traditional office building should look and what it can offer the city and its residents.
Sustainable facade cladding
High sustainability ambitions made GRC an ideal choice for the facade cladding of this office building, with the material’s life of more than 100 years and its resistance to all kinds of weather. The biggest challenge with this project was the large stud frames, where a column is placed in the middle of the surface. The first proposed solution was to cast it as to separate elements. However, the production judged that a better solution would be to cast the column first and then place it in a mould to be cast together with the remaining elements.
BB fiberbeton manufactured 2.800 facade elements in 250 variants, corresponding to 4.600 m2 GRC in the colours BBF no.68 white and BBf no.36 black. The facade elements are mounted with our own unique mounting system FA1000®, as well as embedded steel brackets, embedded stud frames, and embedded inserts with plugs.

GRC is durable for more than 100 years without any technical maintenance and it does not dent, rot, corrode, nor burn (class A material). With a sustainable material and an environmentally friendly production without toxic materials, GRC elements from BB fiberbeton are ideal for environmental certifications, such as LEED, DGNB, and BREEAM.
GRC is made of white cement and fine aggregates and reinforced with glassfibre. Elements are produced using a special spray-technique that allows for a low water/cement-ratio, a low thickness, and a high strength.
